Summary (as quoted from Amazon) Baylee Crawford thought she had her whole life figured out, right up until she accepts a scandalous little dare involving a mysterious man that makes her throw caution to the wind. When she falls completely in love with her mystery man, how will she cope when she has to say goodbye to him as he leaves for war? When a tragedy threatens to tear her world apart, Baylee is left feel lost and has no idea how to help her family in the midst of this loss. Follow Baylee and Nash through a tale of love, passion, longing, war, and tragedy.

My thoughts:
Courageous Dare is an amazing book. The story opens with a woman named Baylee throwing a party, and her twin brother, Ethan, coming back from the Army on a short leave. At the party, Baylee meets Ethan’s best friend and fellow Army member Nash, and they feel an automatic spark ignite between them. While playing a game of truth or dare, Baylee’s best friend dares her to make love to a complete stranger - and Baylee accepts, choosing Nash as her lover for the night. But Baylee and Nash find that they don’t just want their relationship to be limited to a one-night stand, and soon they are irrevocably in love with one another. Even after Nash’s leave is up, they find a way to make their love work - and even through the horror and despair of war, they never give up on one another. I loved Baylee - she was a smart, funny country gal, with humility and honor embedded in her very soul. She had strength to deal with the loss of one of the most important people in her life, and the courage to move on and still find reasons to live. Nash was a great leading man, who, even though dealing with his own nightmares and horrible memories of war, still found happiness with Baylee. Ethan, Baylee’s brother, and Laura, Baylee’s mom, were both amazing characters. Ethan was sweet and courageous, always ready to stand up for his country. (And ready to beat the living heck out of anyone who messed with Baylee.) Laura was always there when things got tough, and her immeasurable strength added a lot to the story. Lacie Nation has created an amazing novel, full of passionate romance, courageous characters, and brilliant writing ; I highly recommend picking up a copy of Courageous Dare today!
