Here, in the arms of the Breed’s formidable leader, Gabrielle will confront an extraordinary destiny of danger, seduction, and the darkest pleasures of all. .

Review: Wow. What a fun paranormal romance. This series is about a group of huge, warrior vampires (much like Black Dagger Brotherhood's) finding their intended human mate. This book is about their leader Lucan and Gabrielle.
It was sexy, fun, sad, upsetting, pretty dark but enjoyable. The vampires themselves have a different history and their foe are the vampires who succumb to bloodlust and quit following their society's rules.
Lucan is the leader of this group of warriors, around 900 years old and not looking to settle down (It is always so much fun to watch the big ones fall). Gabrielle is a photographer with an interesting eye and an uncanny ability to see through vampire mind glamour, seeing things other humans can't process. It puts her in Lucan's path while hunting rogues, and their attraction is intense and sexy.
They both have issues that need overcoming. The other warrior vampires are interesting and have their demons as well. I am looking forward to seeing some of the others "fall" to love in the books to come.
If you like series PNRs like BDB the Psy/Changling or Dragon Pyr series, check them out.
