Review: Exodus

Author: Julie Bertagna
Series: Exodus
Publisher: Walker Books for Young Readers
Publication Date : April 1, 2008
How Received : Borrowed
Rate : 4.5

Summary:
Less than a hundred years from now, the world as we know it has disappeared beneath the sea. Only fifteen-year-old Mara has the vision and the will to lead her people in search of a new beginning in this harsh, unfamiliar world.

My thoughts :
Bertagna’s take on Global Warming was both scary and eye-opening. Fifteen year old Mara is a strong, sassy girl who leads her village in search of a new home when her town becomes covered in water. Seeing and living through Mara’s experiences as she hunts down a new place for her people to live made me cry, laugh, and scream, all at the same time. All of the characters were very vivid, and the story is well described. Exodus is a thrilling, fun read, and I recommend it to anyone looking for an inventive new story.
4.5/5

This sounds really great; it's already on my wishlist, but it's good to see another review of it. Can't wait to get a copy and read it for myself!
