Interview and Giveaway with Chloe Neill!

Welcome to Jagged Edge!
Thanks for having me!

Chole, would you like to tell us a little about yourself?
Sure. I'm the author of the Chicagoland Vampire and Dark Elite series. Both are paranormal romance set inChicago,
with a lot of sarcasm and action--and some very delicious heroes--thrown in.

What inspired you to write?
I went through a period during which I read a ton of books. I eventually ran out of things to read, and decided I
wanted to try my hand at writing!

What authors influenced you as a writer?
I love Stephanie Laurens' attention to detail and mastery of subtlety. I love JR Ward's creativity and intricate plots. I
love the characters in Diana Gabaldon's novels and their love for each other.

Your favorite character?
Jamie Fraser in Diana Gabaldon's Outlander novels.

What is one book everyone should read?
Outlander! Also Kim Harrison's Hollows series, and Rachel Caine's Weather Warden series. (And my Chicagoland
Vampires novels, of course.)

If you could jump in to a book, and live in that world, which would it be?
I'd probably be a vampire in my own Cadogan House. I think living in Chicago with vampires would be so interesting!

What is the one thing that every writer needs to have or do?
They must read a lot. Everyday. Often.

How long does it normally take you to write a book?
I have a very busy deadline schedule, so I write a book in 2-3 months.

What are you most excited about this year?
Right now, the release of HARD BITTEN on May 3! I'm also getting married this year, and going to Comic-Confor the
first time. I'm so excited!

What book do you wish to see come out as a movie?
I'm not a big fan of books turned into movies. I'd rather have one or the other.

Funniest question you have ever been asked?
"Are your books really published? Like, can I buy them in bookstores?" I get that a LOT.

What happened while writing one of your books that you did not expect?
I didn't expect the attack on Cadogan House at the end of TWICE BITTEN. That was a complete surprise.

Whats your favorite book as a kid?
Anything by Judy Blume, Beverly Cleary, or the Laura Ingalls Wilder Little House books.

LAST QUESTION:
Was their a question you wish I would have asked but didn't?

I don't think you missed anything! But thanks for having me today! :)
