Summary: (as quoted from Maggie Stiefvater's Website) In Shiver, Grace and Sam found each other. Now, inLinger, they must fight to be together. For Grace, this means defying her parents and keeping a very dangerous secret about her own well-being. For Sam, this means grappling with his werewolf past . . . and figuring out a way to survive into the future. Add into the mix a new wolf named Cole, whose own past has the potential to destroy the whole pack. And Isabel, who already lost her brother to the wolves . . . and is nonetheless drawn to Cole.
At turns harrowing and euphoric, Linger is a spellbinding love story that explores both sides of love—the light and the dark, the warm and the cold—in a way you will never forget.

My thoughts:
Linger is a fantastic sequel, and was even better than Shiver. In this book, we get to see four different viewpoints from Grace, Sam, Isabel, and Cole. This was very interesting, as we saw three of the characters in the previous book, one as a supporting character and two as the books main characters. But Cole, he is a completely new character. From the moment he entered the story, I had a feeling that he was going to make the plot a whole lot more interesting. He didn't disappoint. His inner struggle and pure want to be anything but human was new and refreshing. The chemistry between him and Isabel was stunning. Isabel herself grew quite a bit in this book, and her strength and resilience was very admirable. Grace turned into the headstrong girl we only saw glimpses of in Shiver, and I loved how she fought for her love for Sam, and never second-guessed her decisions. And Sam- Oh, Sam's feelings throughout the book put me in a variation of emotions ranging from crying at the unfairness of Grace's parents behavior, laughing at his sarcastic lines, and then sighing at the romantic scenes. Linger is an all-around amazing read, and I definitely recommend picking it up today.
5/5
